Cajón de MaipoCajón de Maipo is the name of the gorge which we followed to get to the hot springs located approx. 70 km from Santiago, very near to the Argentine border.

Happy BaconWe had a coffee break in a small settlement in the mountains. All the animals roamed freely around.

Un BarcoAt first it seemed a bit odd that somebody had a boat in a garden in 2500 m altitude.

Laguna NegraA huge deep-blue lake surrounded by huge mountains. Besides me is Janine from Germany who also studies Spanish at my school. All the others on the tour was from another language school.

A smaller landslide just next to where our car was parked. The guide however wasn't very concerned, and we drove just beneath it 5 minutes after.

San GarbrielAs far as I could understand on the guide, this is the top of San Grabriel vulcano (6200 m).

We had to cross this fiercely looking river. It was about 5m wide, and we didn't want to get wet already so we had carried along our own ferry.

Termas del PlomoThe springs were also accessable by 4x4 cars, so we didn't have the springs for ourselves. But it was really pleasant to take a swim in. Near to the source the water was too hot to be in.

PlateauThe Plateau of the springs was at about 3000 m above msl. It was extremely hot (>25 degrees) but there was still snow in some places at this altitude.

Clean shoesOn the way back we didn't bother taking the boat again so we just took it through the rivers and got clean shoes and wet pants.
